Get Involved

Learn more about how to get involved in the Shine the Light on Woman Abuse campaign.

This year, we are reaching out to organizations, businesses and educational institutions to ask for your help by illuminating your building(s) purple in support of the campaign. For ideas about how to get involved with fun ideas like Office/Dorm/ Classroom Decorating Contest, Purple Pancake Breakfast or the Purple Push-Up Challenge, check out our FREE 2023 Shine the Light Campaign Toolkit. For schools, we have also added our FREE 2023 Shine the Light Educational Resource that includes group activities focused on healthy relationships, abuse, sexual exploitation, and trafficking which links to aspects of the Ontario Secondary School Curriculum.  LAWC will be more than happy to supply organizations, businesses and schools with free campaign posters for your displays as well.

We also welcome your participation in Wear Purple Day on Wednesday November 15th.  This is a cost-free way to support our efforts in ending violence against women. Post pictures of you and your staff’s participation on Instagram, Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) and using the hashtag #ShineTheLight2023. You can also tag LAWC on all those platforms with @endwomanabuse.

You can also download our FREE Cover Images 1, 2, 3, or 4 as your background for Zoom or Teams calls or on your own social media profiles such as Instagram or Facebook.

We kick of the campaign with the lighting of the Tree of Hope in Victoria Park on November 1st. We hope once again, to turn London and Middlesex County, and communities across the country, purple during the month of November. This year, we are reaching out to organizations, businesses and educational institutions to ask for your help by illuminating your building(s) purple in support of the campaign.
