Eligibility: The contest is open to non-professional musicians only. For the purposes of this contest a non-professional musician is classified as a person (or group of people) who performs music for the pleasure of it, without ever having been paid to perform.

This competition is open to non-professional musicians of all ages.

Note: A keyboard is available for use during the competition. Performers must provide all other instruments and props, as needed.

All acts will use the sound system & operator provided by Rockwater’s. Vocalists who would like to use pre-recorded music for accompaniment must bring it on a cd (good quality), labeled with the act’s name and phone number on it. This cd must be brought to Rockwater’s on the day of the audition and, if selected as a finalist, again on the day of the competition at registration time. Be sure that only the performance/registered song is on the cd.

Entries: Anyone interested in performing must audition for a finalist spot. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Rockwater Brewing Co. (Galleria Mall, corner of King & Clarence). Anyone interested in auditioning must register by Friday, October 12, 4pm. Judges will select the finalists who will go on to perform at London Talent 2007 on Thursday, November 1 st at Rockwater’s in front of a new panel of judges. An entry may take any form, as long as it is entertaining and in good taste.

Once selected, each person is asked to pay a $10.00 fee for entry in the competition (e.g. if you have a group of 4 performers you must pay a total of $40.00 to enter).

Judging: A panel of judges (different from the panel of judges at the audition) will score entries on November 1 st based on the following criteria:

20 points - 1) Content/Material Chosen: appropriate & appealing to audience as indicated by the audience response.

10 points - 2) Musical Presentation: selection is appropriate to skill level, instruments are tuned properly; and sound level is appropriate.

30 points - 3) Talent: a demonstrated proficiency in mastering your chosen instrument (vocal or musical instrument).

30 points - 4) Showmanship: stage personality including: poise, confidence, expression, stage presence, musical projection, and gestures.

10 points - 5) Personal Evaluation: Overall impression left on the judge based on originality and a combination of the above 4 categories.

The decision of the judges is final. No judging changes, alterations or reassessments will be made once the results have been announced.
